Fara Ashiru Jituboh is the co-founder and CEO/CTO of Okra, Inc., a fintech Nigerian-based startup that allows for the exchange of real-time financial information between customers, applications, and banks. [1]

Jituboh is a software engineer and entrepreneur, who is fluent in over 20 programming languages.[2]

History

Jituboh’s inspiration for Okra came from her innate need to solve problems. Being born in Nigeria, but growing up in the United States, Jituboh desired to make a difference in her home country. While still in the U.S., she began using financial applications to manage her finances. When she returned to Nigeria, she realised that these applications did not work as they were not linked to Nigerian banks. This is when the idea for Okra was conceptualised. [3]

Jituboh co-founded Okra with David Peterside in 2019. [4] However, the company launched in January, 2020. [5] Prior to founding Okra, Jituboh built and scaled products with organisations such as the design application Canva, TechHustle, the health insurance company Sana Benefits, and the health-tech company Dorsata. [6]

In 2014, she co-founded and was the CTO of Shixels Studios that worked with financial companies such as AXA Mansard, Diamond Bank, Renmoney, plus telecommunications company Airtel, and more. [7] Shixels Studios helps businesses create website designs and apps, in order to improve businesses’ web presence.[8]

Jituboh holds a B.S.C. in Computer Science from the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.[9]
