Tinotenda Mundangepfupfu is Zimbabwean and is based in Cape Town, South Africa.[1] He is a software engineer and has worked on financial and e-commerce products. Mundangepfupfu is one of the Co-Founders of Carry1st, alongside Cordel Robbin-Coker and Lucy Hoffman. Mundangepfupfu is the company’s Chief Technology Officer [2], Robbin-Coker is the company’s CEO[3] and Hoffman is the company’s Head of Operations.[4]

Mundangepfupfu has over 12 years of industry experience.[5] He is a front-end and back-end developer. He is skilled in Java and Mobile Development.[6]


He attended Kutama College from 1999 to 2004. Kutama College is an all-boys school in Mashonaland West, Zimbabwe.[7] The following year until 2007, he completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology, specialising in Computer Engineering at the University of Cape Town. Mundangepfupfu then received his Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Computer Science from the University of Cape Town in 2008 and his Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cape Town in 2010.


From February 2009 to September 2011, he worked as a Software Developer for Business Systems Group Africa,[8] a homegrown South African consulting and technology company.[9] He maintained his role as a Software Developer but this time for Realmdigital in Durbanville from October 2011 to October 2013. Realmdigital offers digital solutions to empower industry leaders.[10] He was a Senior Developer and Team Lead for Realmdigital from October 2013 to June 2015 in Durbanville as well.

In that same month until December 2016, he was a Senior Software Engineer for Konga Online Shopping Ltd in Cape Town. Konga Online Shopping Ltd is a Nigerian online shopping website that sells books, home appliances, mobile phones and groceries.[11] Mundangepfupfu was a Software Development Manager for Konga Online Shopping Ltd from January 2017 to November 2017 in Cape Town.

He then became a Senior Analyst Programmer for Old Mutual Finance, an insurance company, from January 2018 to December 2018 in Cape Town.

The following month saw him becoming the Co-Founder and Lead Software Engineer at Carry1st until January, 2021. He assumed his role as Chief Technology Officer for Carry1st in February, 2021.

Awards and Achievements

He is a Sun Certified Java Programmer.[12]

He published an article on “Modelling Channel Error in IEEE 802.11 Networks” in 2010, another article on “Simulation modelling of QoS enhancements in IEEE, 802. 11 networks and the effects of channel modelling” in 2011 was also published.[13]
