Zuvaa which translates to “sunshine” in Shona, a Zimbabwean language, is an online community and marketplace, that presents an online shopping experience of African inspired fashion and accessories to customers.
Apart from providing affordable, ethically made, and African-inspired pieces, Zuvaa is also a go-to platform for African designs with a growing list of designers in North America, Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa.
Zuvaa currently features 75 designers from Africa and North America (2020) who are showcasing the beauty and vibrancy of the African continent.
Furthermore, the online marketplace delivers news on a daily African fashion newsletter. It also assists up-and-coming African Fashion Brands to increase revenue, scale operation and streamline their process with the online platform for social selling and personal shopping.
For designers to be a part of Zuvaa, the online market advises designers to apply and send samples of their products. Once the sample is received, they touch, feel, and see the quality of their product., once approved, a vendor will upload their items and have complete control of imagery, aesthetic, and pricing. 
Zuvaa has vendors all over the world and some of them need help with things like logistics and shipping. Therefore, they give them information and support needed for them to be successful on Zuvaa as an online market.
Zuvaa was launched in May 2014, by New York-based entrepreneur, Kelechi Anyadiegwu (founder and CEO), after identifying a gap in the African print fabrics and fashion market based on the compliments she received when wearing African inspired designs.
As she was always referring people to the designers when asked about her African print designs, she saw a business opportunity and bought a domain and started social media accounts to create a platform that would provide more exposure for African-inspired fashion designers.
The online African clothing store was started with only $500 which was the cost of putting together a website and registering the company with only 20 designers.
In 2017, Zuvaa hosted a one-of-a-kind Pop-Up Shop at the Fowler Museum at UCLA to celebrate the opening of their new exhibition African-Print Fashion.
In 2016, Zuvaa grew a $500 investment into more than $2 million in sales in under two years from its launch.
